Oxenford Farm - a working farm in Somerset

Oxenford Farm Yurts

All our 16ft yurts are set on wooden decking and are fully furnished with futons, bed linen, storage boxes and a wood burning stove to make your stay easy, relaxing and cosy.

The crown cover can be removed letting in extra daylight and gives the chance to watch the night sky from the comfort of your bed.

All our yurts sleep up to 5 people sleeping on 1 double and 3 single futons. Each of the futons has a thick quilt and bouncy pillows . No need to make up your bed on arrival or bring sleeping bags, pillows etc. All double futons have a thick deluxe mattress for a cosy and comfortable night's sleep and that ultimate glamping experience

With plenty of space outside each yurt there is a charcoal BBQ, picnic bench and fire pit where marshmallows can be toasted while watching the night sky and chatting about your day.

Each yurt has its own composting toilet within the yurt site.

Free to use family shower rooms for each yurt, with hot showers and a wash hand basin, are at the farm a short walk away.

Lighting is by solar lights and some safety candles.

Mobile phones, laptops etc. can be re charged at the house.

A large airy undercover kitchen houses all your cooking and washing up needs. For more details on the facilities at Oxenford Farm, please see "Your Stay".

The Site:

The yurt field is peaceful and secluded situated in the middle of our farm, surrounded by fields and bordered on all sides with field hedges and trees. It is a haven for birds and wildlife making this the ideal place for children to play safely and explore the outdoors.

Sandpits and outdoor toys are provided.

The site is level with no hills or steep incline.

Sky scape:

On a beautiful clear night sit outside your yurt and watch the night sky. See millions of stars and some planets with the naked eye or bring a telescope for more spectacular sights. Oxenford Farm is nestled in the
Hamlet of Oxenford; we have no street lighting on the farm or in the neighbouring villages. Ilminster is
our closest town, 5 minutes drive away, and does not pollute Oxenford with light as the town is tucked
in behind Herne Hill Nature reserve.
