Oxenford Farm Yurts
Our 4 Yurts are set on wooden bases and are circular with a conical shaped roof. They are 16 ft in diameter.
Based on the Mongolian Yurt they are constructed from steam bent American red oak and canvas. The crown cover can easily be removed letting in extra daylight and giving the chance to watch the night sky from the comfort of your bed. They are temporary structures with very low environmental impact.
They are fully furnished with all you need for a relaxing quiet stay. Each yurt benefits from its own wood burning stove, futons and rugs to make your stay original and cosy. There are locking front doors for added security.
Lighting is by wind up lanterns and safety candles.
Each yurt has its own composting toilet/ Thunder Box.
Hot showers are situated at the farm a short walk away.
Outside your yurt is a picnic table, bbq area and fire ring for long summer evenings beside your very own campfire before retiring to watch the night sky through the crown of your yurt.
A camping gas stove for cooking, and a cool chest to keep food fresh with new ice packs are available from the farmhouse. There will be a central mains cold water tap for dishwashing, drinking and cooking.
Sausages, bacon, pork, faggots and eggs can bought at Oxenford Farm for that hearty west country breakfast or supper or nearby there are 3 farm shops selling local produce. See our Local Area page for more details.

The site is level with no steps or steep incline. The yurts are on one level with large amounts
of space between.
